Excel Text to column tools is one of most powerfull and useful tool to Extract or Separate the text between characters, For Example you can Extract or separate a column of full name into First name and last name,
1. Select the range that you want to extract the text from full name.
2. On the Data tab, click Text to Columns to Extract the text between.
The following dialog box appears.
3. Choose Delimited and click Next.
Tick Comma or type comma on the text box
Click Next
Keep it by default dont do anything here and click Next.
That's All.
Note: This example has commas and spaces as delimiters. You may have other delimiters in your data. Experiment by checking and unchecking the different check boxes. You get a live preview of how your data or name will be separated.
