Example 1 : Highlight cell values that contain Less then 40 in Red color using Conditional formatting.
Example 1 : Highlight cell values that contain Less then 40 in Red color using Conditional formatting.
Under Home tab > styles Group > Conditional formatting > new Rule.
Under Dialog box. select format cells that contain, and select less then, in text box Enter 40.
After that click Format.under Fill tab select the color which you want apply.
Click ok.
Note : Now you see the cells that contain less then 40 values are highlighted.
As Same from step 3 you can select less then, greater then, between. you can use and value as well you want.
Clear Rules
To clear a conditional formatting rule, execute the following steps.
1. Select the range A1:A10.
2. On the Home tab, click Conditional Formatting, Clear Rules, Clear Rules from Selected Cells.
Top/Bottom Rules
To highlight cells that are above the average of the cells, execute the following steps.
1. Select the range A1:A10.
2. On the Home tab, click Conditional Formatting, Top/Bottom Rules, Above Average...
3. Select a formatting style.
4. Click OK.
Result. Excel calculates the average (42.5) and formats the cells that are above this average.
Note: Using conditional formatting you can also highlight the top 10 items, the top 10 %, etc. The sky is the limit!
