Excel charts - Advanced excel charts and graphs


Creating charts using Excel is nothing new, this has been a core feature of Excel for a very 
long time. However, in Excel 2013 there are two significant changes to the chart making tools: the addition of the Recommended Charts tool, and the re-positioning of the major chart formatting tools in excel advanced charts and graphs. 

Let’s see an example how it’s useful to when choosing chats for right data in excel tutorial charts and graphs.


Step 1 : We have data like below image, OK let excel decide the right chart.

Go to under insert tab and select recommended chart, Using recommended chart in your worksheet to get a customize set of charts that excel will think fit best with your data.

Here is the list of all recommended customized chart and graph that fit for your data.

Using clustered column is used to compare values across a few categories, use it when the order of categories is not important.



Example 2 : Creating Pie chart

Refer step 1 to chose right chart.

Then click Ok.



Note : A pie chart is used to show proportions of a whole. use it to show numbers that related to a large sum and always equal 100%. do not use this chart if its contains many slices as angles are hard to estimate.
